THE HERDS est un projet d'art public et d'action climatique à une échelle inédite, une rencontre ambitieuse entre la culture et le climat.
D'avril à août 2025, des marionnettes d'animaux grandeur nature parcourront 20 000 km du bassin du Congo au cercle Arctique, symbolisant leur fuite devant la catastrophe climatique.
THE HERDS rassemble des organisations et des artistes renommés et engagés. Les étapes clés du voyage incluent Kinshasa, Lagos, Dakar, Marrakech, Casablanca, Madrid, Barcelone, Marseille, Arles, Paris, Venise, Manchester, Londres, Aarhus, Copenhague, Stockholm et Trondheim, culminant en un événement final dans le cercle Arctique.
Du bassin du Congo au cercle Arctique, nous créons des événements artistiques d'envergure internationale qui remettent en question les points de vue sur la crise climatique. En collaborant avec des artistes et écologistes phares d'Afrique et d'Europe, notre objectif est d'initier des changements significatifs et de favoriser une prise de conscience mondiale.
THE WALK PRODUCTIONS présente une œuvre d'art public à grande échelle, qui réunit artistes et partenaires de tous horizons, crée des événements artistiques d'excellence, remet en question les préjugés, réexamine le discours et suscite le changement.
À l'initiative des producteurs David Lan et Tracey Seaward, du directeur artistique Amir Nizar Zuabi et de la productrice exécutive Sarah Loader, THE HERDS a été fondé en 2019 pour créer l'épopée d'Amal, la marionnette de 3,5 mètres de haut représentant une enfant réfugiée, qui a touché 2 millions de personnes dans 18 pays, et plus encore à travers le monde.
Pour THE HERDS, nous montons une équipe de créatifs locaux et internationaux, du bassin du Congo au cercle Arctique, formée d'experts dans leurs domaines respectifs : production, éducation, environnement et communication.
