THE HERDS arrived to the vibrant city of Dakar. Running through the streets of Ouakam they were welcomed with an arresting performance by renowned Senegalese artists collective "Artiste du Daanu". In the center of city - the Medina - they met the artwork of visual artist Fabrice Monteiro in the shape of a stark prophecy, to the sound of Noumoucounda Cissoko's kora.
Eventually, THE HERDS found their way to the beach of Golf Sud, where choreographer Jean Tamba responded to the climate crisis through the mythology of the Kumpo, the spiritual masquerade symbol of the Diola people of the Casamance, before disappearing into the vast Sahara Desert.
In partnership with Fabrice Monteiro, Jean Tamba, Noumoucounda Cissoko, Blaise Senghor Cultural Centre, Ville de Dakar, Fablab Solidaire Lab-S, Hub Artiste du Daanu and Sarah Desbois.
