Noumoucounda is a Senegalese artist and kora virtuoso from a griot family, blending Mandinka tradition with modern sounds. After training at the Dakar Conservatory, he joined the pioneering rap group Positive Black Soul in 1994, touring the world for 20 years. His solo work, including the album Faling and the 2023 EP Griots, reflects his unique style as an urban griot—mixing hip-hop, tradition, and socially conscious themes like education and women’s rights.
